THE STORY
Going along with the floating concept. I was commissioned to make something on a larger scale. A vanity to go over a dresser. The client wanted a rendition of “Here’s Looking At You” to fit the span of their dresser. It was back to the drawing board, literally. Since this was a vanity i knew the center of the mirror needed as much reflective real estate as possible.
Two separate shelves was the obvious solution, but having it line up was just too...boring. When you have an opportunity to do something different and add some flare, you have to take it. Once I offset the shelves I realized this looked a lot like the full moon’s I drew when I was a kid, hence the name “Full Moon”.
